Regulation of FoxB expression. The expression of Hr-FoxB was visualized at the 64- (A,D-F) and the 110-cell (B,C) stages in vegetal views. Fertilized eggs were injected with standard control MO (A,B), ZicN MO (C) or FGF MO (D). Treatments with DMSO (E) or MEK inhibitor dissolved in DMSO (F) were started from the eight-cell stage. Black arrowheads indicate normal expression of Hr-FoxB in nerve cord precursors and muscle precursors. White arrowheads indicate loss of the expression. Red arrowheads indicate ectopic expression in notochord precursors. Green arrowheads indicate ectopic expression in mesenchyme precursors. Scale bar: 100 μm.
