2. Drawing on the Policy Baseline Review
The Environmental Impact Assessment Policy (2000) approved by the PLC and empowered by the Environmental Law (1999) and later, subsequent Strategies (SPEAP, NEEAP, NDP).
The MNE Bylaws No. 19 of 2009, which sets relevant regulations, including that concern cleaner production and quality of production.

3. Policy Instrument Proposals
Establishing specific obligatory and negotiated compliance frameworks with relevant standards.
Bringing external costs of pollution with the private cost of industrial premises.
Introducing tax-breaks for import of EE equipment used exclusively for CP.
Establishing DBs on CP techniques, Benchmarks, and Eco-Labeling.

4. Policy Instrument Proposals
Introducing and encouraging “Financial Assistance Mechanisms” including, Bank Green Loans.
Introducing Focused Awareness Programs, specifically RECPA approaches.

5. Selected Policy Instrument
Establishing specific obligatory and negotiated compliance frameworks with relevant standards
Realization of the importance of CP and its positive impacts on the environment and the economy and hence, positive commitment of public and private sectors.
Main barriers are the political settings, private sector family business type, lack of enforcement capabilities, etc.
The 10 demonstration companies are perceived as success stories and will be presented along with other regional stories in the final project conference.
By End of January 2017 all deomonstartion companies will be finalized including building the human capacities within comapnies.
