7 H1 Results H1: Men and women will differ in the motivation to apologize Significant difference of offense severity rating between women and men (t[94] = -2.36, p = 0.003) Women (M = 3.41) perceived higher offense severity than men (M = 3.06) No significant difference between women and men for apology deservedness (t[94] = -1.49, p = 0.029) Significant difference between women and men in apology likelihood (t[94] = -2.05, p = 0.116) Women (M = 5.07) were significantly more likely to apologize than men (M = 4.65)
