Once you have made an account it can be difficult to delete it. People can look at your bio and see the picture you took years ago. This is a digital footprint. You may think it not a big deal but it is!
What's a digital footprint ? Let’s use Instagram as an example. You decide to upload a new picture on your account. It uploads just fine. But the thing is if you upload the photo it will be there forever. It can still be seen by everyone.

3. What is a Good Digital Footprint ?
It could be things like:
Going on scout camp.
Being in a school play.
Helping to raise money for charity.
Photos of your hobbies.
Photos of sporting activities you do.
You can have a positive digital footprint and this is fine as it can show people in the future all of your achievements and what you have done with your life so far. It could help you get a job or get into university.

4. The Risk about a Bad Digital Footprint!
The thing about having a bad digital footprint is it stays with you forever! You may delete a photo but that’s still doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. People can share and screen shot your pictures without your permission. You may say oh it’s fine - not a great deal - but they can edit your picture to make fun of you.

5. What should you do before you post online?
Ask permission before posting a photo.
Think what impression someone will get of you
if they see your post.
Remember your post could stay online forever even if you delete it.
