Pre-writing - Anger Anger, rage, furious, heated.
What are some of the times when you felt these emotions? Create a 2 column chart, and in the left-hand column list as many of the times in your life when you experienced these emotions.

Pre-writing - Anger In the right-hand column, for each of the instances identify at least 1 PHYSICAL RESPONSE to each instance; that is, how did your body react and feel in each instance. Be sure to use CONCRETE DETAILS in this column.

Pre-writing - Anger Go down the list and circle 2 that are most powerful to you. Below your chart, write down who or what caused this anger. This can be a list or a paragraph.

Choose 1 of your instances of anger and write about it. DO NOT worry about spelling, grammar, or organization - simply write what comes to your head about the incident.

WRITE - Anger Now, draft an essay on the following topic. Use the sample outline on the next slide to plan your essay. Anger is a powerful emotion. Write about a time when you lost control of yourself because you were angry. Describe the situation, what you were angry about, your physical reactions, and how the anger subsided. Finally, write about what you learned about anger from this event.
