Abbreviations are: SAL, sham-operated rats fed ad libitum; SPF, sham-operated rats pair-fed with the uremic animals; UREM, uremic rats; UREM-GH, uremic rats treated with recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH). Asterisk means significantly different from the other groups.
