9:00 – 9:15 Silent Reading 9:15 – 10:45 Math 10:45-11:07 Science/SS 11:07-11:37 Lunch 11:37-11:55 Recess 11:55-12:35 Science/SS 12:35-1:35 Specials 1:35-2:05 Writing 2:05-3:10 ELA 3:10-3:40 Intervention 3:40-4:00 Dismissal Schedule subject to change Fifth Grade students are expected to follow these 3 rules: Respect Yourself Respect Others Respect the School Positive Behavior System (PBS) School wide: We follow the PBS step plan. Consequences may include: Verbal Warning Reflection sheet (Stop and Think) Time out in class or another room Conduct points deducted Phone Call to Parent Visit with school counselor Rewards for Positive Behavior Inclusive classroom environment, positive praise, Diamond Dollars, special class activities, …etc *Student learning is 1st priority CONTACT GRADING We will use the traditional grading scale as follows throughout the term on Infinite Campus: 90%-100% E = Excellent 80%-89% VG = Very Good 75%-79% S = Satisfactory 70%-74% NI = Needs Improvement 0%-69% U = Unacceptable *I will use Class Dojo so you can see your child’s behavior in class and you can text me about your concerns about behavior,classwork, homework, and etc. Assignment Weights: Classwork-50 % Test-35% Participation10% Homework 5% At the end of each week you will also receive a snapshot report card that is standards based. It will show you your student’s understanding of important concepts. HOMEWORK Students will have homework Monday thru Thursday. You can find it on my webpage on diamondlakes.org. –look under staff and locate my name. There will be resources and videos on the webpage that students can look at and help with their learning. If you have a computer at home, please allow your child to get on I-Ready to practice their Reading and Math Skills. Also, homework will be on Class Dojo. BIRTHDAYS Birthdays are celebrated during our lunch time. Please send napkins, plates, utensils… when appropriate. PROGRESS REPORTS Students will receive weekly progress reports on Tuesday. They will receive a blue folder with the progress report inside that need to be signed and returned along with the folder by Wednesday.
