Where do people learn them? How do they make people feel? Why do we say them? If people in the class say these things to one another a lot how might it affect the group?

11 Put-Ups! How would these words make someone feel? What would be the effect on the class if we used these phrases instead of put-downs? Ask the class to think of put-ups, that is kind and friendly things to say to each other. List contributions on board.

13 Using Put- Ups! Ask students to think of a friend or relative. Have them write put-ups they might give those people.
