1 INNOVATION AND ENGAGEMENT
Agenda slide – establish why we’re here: to help transform the way YOUR City thinks & works.

2 Every city has aspirations for the what they want to become.
For example, these are Los Angeles’ goals… A Livable and Sustainable City A Well Run City through Government Efficiency A Prosperous City with Economic Development A Tech Community and Developer Resources A Safe City With a Focus on Public Safety LINE UP WITH THEIR HIGH LEVEL GOALS: The goal is always to help the customer do THEIR jobs. In the City of Los Angeles, the Mayor’s goal - to transform the City of Los Angeles – became OUR goal. The Hub was developed as a mechanism and a series of activities designed to flush out a GIS infrastructure, raise awareness & build an understanding that will help City staff and leaders meet the Mayor’s goal of transforming the City of Los Angeles. .

3 Those aspirations get translated into actionable, real-world initiatives
Implement Performance Management Reduce Traffic Congestion Create More Affordable Housing Reduce Homelessness SUPPORT CITY-WIDE INITIATIVES TO MEET GOALS: Focus on the citywide initiatives that directly support the Mayor’s high-level goals. Department leaders are being measured by their ability to meet/support these initiatives. Drive Department Leader support for The Hub – which we need to get the right City GIS staff assigned to support the effort. Increase Recreation Opportunities Create Job Availability Improve Water Conservation Make Parking Easier Improve Emergency Response Times Use Less Energy Encourage Startups Improve Earthquake Preparedness
