What is Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010?
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010 is a complete presentation graphics program. A PowerPoint presentation is also called a slide show. You can use PowerPoint to create presentations, as well as the following features: Speaker notes for the presenter Handouts for the audience Outlines for students

Starting PowerPoint 2010 An icon for PowerPoint can be placed on the desktop when the program is installed. Start PowerPoint by clicking on the Start button located on the taskbar.

Starting PowerPoint PowerPoint program opens with a blank presentation. The various types of presentations available include: Blank Installed Themes Installed Templates To start a new presentation click New under the File tab. To open an existing presentation choose Open from the File tab.

What is a presentation A presentation is an informative speech that usually includes visuals, such as slides. Presentations can take other forms: Photo slide shows that run continuously Multimedia slide shows with recorded sounds

Changing Text The Outline pane allows the user to concentrate on the content on the slide rather than the design aspect of the slide. A slide can be edited in either the Outline tab or the Slide pane.

PowerPoint Views PowerPoint has four basic views:
Normal View - The default view, is the primary editing view where you add text, graphics , and other elements. Slide Sorter View - is primarily used to rearrange slides Notes Page View - Use to key notes (often called speaker notes) you want to remember about each slide Slide Show View -Displays your presentation as an electronic slide show (fill the computer screen) Switch views by using the View Commands in the Presentations Views Group on the View Tab
