2. What is the Solar System?
The solar system consist of moon, comets, asteroids, minor planets, dust, and gas.
Made up of all planets that orbit the sun.
The sun contains around 98% of all material in the solar system.

3. How did it form?
Scientist believe that the solar system enrolled from a giant cloud of dust of gas.
It collapse under the weight of its own gravity.

4. Mercury Mercury is the closest plant to the sun.
Its often called morning star because its shines bright when the sun rises in the morning.
Mercury is often visible for a brief period of time after the sun sets.

5. Venus
The planet Venus has been on of the most misunderstood of all inner planets.
Venus has atmosphere.
It’s the earths sister.

6. Earth The Earth is the biggest of all terrestrial planets.
About 30% of all the earths surface is covered with land, and 70% is covered with oceans.
The Earth has one moon.

7. Mars Mars is mild temperature.
Evidence suggest that Mars once had rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans.
Sometimes Mars is referred to as the “Red Planet” because the surface is red.
Mars has two moons names Deimos and Phobos.

8. Jupiter Juipter is by far the biggest planet.
It’s a very stormy planet.
Jupiter's great red spot is called “The Eye of Jupiter” because of its shape.
Its has 3 rings names Gossamen, Main, and Halo.

9. Saturn Similar to Jupiter but it is much smaller.
Second largest planet.
Least dense in the solar system.
Saturn has 53 official moons.

10. Uranus Uranus is a gas planet. It spins on its side.
The thick atmosphere is made up of hydrogen, methane, and helium.
The rings are made up of black dust particles and large rocks.

11. Neptune Discovered by Johann Galle and Heinrich D’Arres in 1846
Smallest of the four gas units.
Very windy.
Six rings which circle the planet.
It has 13 moons.

12. Pluto
Named after a kid.
Smaller than seven of the moons in the solar system.
Now considered the Dwarf Planet.
