2 1. Home Keys The keys where you place your fingers to begin keying: a s d f for left hand and j k l ; for right hand

3 2. Space Bar Key used to place a space between words

4 3. ENTER Key used to return the insertion point to the left margin and move it down one line.

5 4. Insertion Point A mark that blinks on the screen.
It may be a line, a carat or a rectangle. Appears where text will be entered. As you type the insertion point moves to the right on your screen.

7 5. GWAM-Gross Words A Minute
The number of Standard Words keyed in one minute.

8 6. Word Wrap When you reach the end of the line you are typing, the next words move down to the next line.

9 7. Scrolling Because your computer screen is not very big, as you type text that is longer than your screen, the text moves up so that you can see it. This is Scrolling.

10 8. Arrow Keys After text has been entered, the arrow keys can be used to move the insertion point around the screen-up, down, left, right.
