Piers Floating – a buoyant pier that is tied to the bottom of the marina via a chain, rope or other tether Fixed – piers constructed out of ridged material, usually wood or concrete, that are permanent Natural – natural occurrences in nature such as beaches or rock outcrops that can be used as piers

Economics Buying or building a Marina costs $150,000 to 28 Million Dollars Annual repair cost of the marina is 3% of the total cost of the docks themselves Cost to rent a dock location ranges from $100 a month to above $10,000 a month for mega yachts in convenient locations Fuel sales at a Marinas account for a large percentage of the net profit since they are the sole fuel retailer in most cases
