Language Not Clear Click to start the movie. Greg
Our study found that a number of terms that users need to 1) understand the IRB process and 2) understand the web site were not clear to the users in many instances. Included in the terms users found difficult were acronyms for regulations. Click to start the movie.

Navigation Unclear Click to start the movie. Greg
The term “human subjects” appears in two places. In one instance it leads to a sub-menu, and in another it leads to a different sub-menu. This caused users to lose their way and become confused as to where they should go to find forms and understand regulations and procedures. In addition, the site has some menu items that are buried on menus at the 4th level, which makes them difficult to find and hard to point to because of the java-scripted menu structure. “How To Get Started” Ineffective
Greg The “How to Get Started” page appeared at the end of a sub menu of 10 other items. Users had difficulty finding that page. Also, that page did not include a clear overview of the process. It referred to “these pages” but didn’t have links to them. The link on a 3rd-level heading that says “TTU Policies” goes to the “How to Get Started” page. This is very confusing to users.
