COL29A1 mRNA was detected by using the 3′UTR antisense probe (Fig 1, A and C, upper panels) and a probe generated to the sequences published in Söderhäll et al15 (Fig 1, B and D, lower panels). Both probes show an almost identical staining pattern. Stratum basale (SB), stratum spinosum (SS), stratum granulosum (SG), and stratum corneum (SC) are indicated.
