Learning Target In order to understand how to fund my higher education, I will learn the fundamentals of financial aid. I will know I have it when I know: (1) why it is important to obtain a higher education; (2) who to speak with to help in the process; and (3) the difference in costs of community, public, and private schools. (4) the importance and timelines of completing the FAFSA; (5) the purpose and meaning of the “SAR”, “EFC”, and “COA”; (6) the process that institutions of higher learning follow when making awards of financial aid; and (7) my responsibility upon receiving financial aid awards.
