2 Season Patterns of temperature changes and other weather trends over the course of a year. Fall, winter, spring, summer

3 Equator Imaginary line which separates the Northern Hemisphere from the Southern Hemisphere

4 Axis of Rotation The imaginary line that Earth rotates around. 1 rotation is 24 hours. This causes day and night.

5 Revolution The motion of one object around another.
Earth revolves around the Sun. Moon revolves around the Earth.

6 Equinox Time of the year when sunlight shines equally on the northern and southern hemisphere. September Equinox March Equinox

7 Solstice The area of sunlight is at a maximum in one hemisphere and a minimum in another hemisphere. These days make the longest/shortest days of the year. December Solstice – Shortest day of the year. June Solstice – Longest day of the year.
