1 CLOUDS & PRECIPITATION
By Mrs. Wisher WRITE EVERYTHING IN RED

2 ClOUDS VOCABULARY humidity – the amount of water vapor in the air
dew point – the temperature at which condensations begins dew – moisture that forms on the ground fog – clouds that form near or on the ground fog is formed when the ground cools at night after a warm humid day. The ground is the same temperature as the dew point.

3 WATER CYCLE & CLOUDS First, water evaporates
Then water in the atmosphere begins to condense to form clouds Some clouds will eventually precipitate

4 HOW DO CLOUDS FORM? Clouds form when water vapor in the air becomes liquid water or ice crystals. Water condenses on small particles or dust suspended in the air to form a cloud

5 3 TYPES OF CLOUDS Cumulus – “heap” – usually are taller than they are wide Stratus – “layered” – are wider than they are tall Cirrus – wispy feathered clouds Which type is this cloud?
