The Cancer Research UK London Winter Run will be holding its 5 th annual event. It promises to be even more exciting than the previous ones, offering guests at the Park City hotel South Kensington a day trip a little out of the ordinary.hotel South Kensington The run begins in the historic Trafalgar Square and follows a majestic route through London’s center in a 10-kilometer stretch. The organizers develop the event each year to improve participant experience. The run is coordinated with the office of the Mayor of London and London Sport.

The Bag Drop located at the Trafalgar Square is the starting area. The race will finish at Whitehall, which is located near Downing Street. The race starts between 9:30 to 11:00 AM. The program supports cancer research as well as other noteworthy programs. You may also want to organize your own fundraising program for the same cause. Getting There It’s highly recommended that you use public transport if you’re going to the event. You should allot plenty of time for the journey since some of the roads will be closed. You will also have to walk from the arrival station towards the Bag Drop. Planned engineering works within the city may delay your journey, so it’s best to visit the Transport of London page for the schedules.

Here are the nearest train or tube stations to the event: -Charing Cross. This is the most recommended station, but you will need to exit through the Trafalgar Square or you will end up crossing the run route. -Westminster -Leicester Square -Embankment -Waterloo -Piccadilly St. James Park

If you’re bringing your car, as much as possible, share the ride with other people going to the event. Do some research on the parking locations before you set off. As previously mentioned, there will be road closures, which may cause diversions or delays. You must allow plenty of travel time. If you go there by taxi, find a safe and suitable place to get off so you don’t hold traffic on the main roads.
7
For those who are biking their way to the event, no bicycle parking facilities are provided. Look for local public bike storage or facilities. Make sure that your bike is not blocking walkways or entrances. Park your bike at your own risk. For a richer experience, try booking hotels in Central London to avoid spending fare on traveling to reach most of the popular tourist attractions.hotels in Central London

Dining Whether you’re a participant of the run or mere audience, all that excitement will eventually make you hungry. Good thing, Trafalgar Square is blessed with some of the best restaurants in London. Smack right in the square is Café in the Square, its official coffee place. It’s a great place to have a snack and drink while waiting for the run to begin or just simply admiring the location.

Named after the famous detective is the Sherlock Holmes Pub and Restaurant. There’s even a Sherlock Holmes mannequin inside and lots of related artifacts. Load up on carbohydrates because it’s going to be a long day and there’s no better place to do that than the Pizza Express. For those cutting their carb consumption, salads there are great, too.
