3 1 2 4 5 Sample Artwork Created With Powerpoint Shapes
Consider this Powerpoint file as a “template” example of images created in Powerpoint for a “fliplet” interactive audio picture book. Here is the working online “fliplet”: Please examine each slide of this Powerpoint file. The images are made with “shapes”. Note the “groups” of shapes. You can select and “ungroup” them to see how they are made. This file is a 13.33” by 7.5” presentation. When you “save as”, save the slides as PNG image files. They will have the dimensions of 1280 x 720. To reduce the file size, drag each of the PNG image files into the free online application called “tinypng” ( Edit this template by replacing the slides with your own approximately 20 slides, using “shapes”. Be original. Be creative. 2 4 5

POLAR BEAR & TIGER Written and Illustrated by Greg Smith
3
Polar Bear lived at the North Pole in a world of ice and snow.
It was very cold at the North Pole. Polar Bear’s thick white fur blended in nicely with the ice and snow. It kept him warm and dry.
4
Every day Bear dove into the freezing ocean to hunt for his favorite food: seals.
5
Every day, Tiger would hunt for his favorite food: antelope.
6
Tiger lived far to the South, in a rain forest in India.
The rain forest was very hot and damp. Tiger’s thin orange and black fur blended nicely with the shadows of the forest and the tall grass of the fields. It kept him cool and comfortable.
7
One day, Tiger got tired of the rain forest.
“It’s too hot here,” he grumbled. “Every day is the same: hot, hot, hot!” He decided to head North where it was cooler. So off he went.
8
That very same day, Polar Bear got tired of the ice and snow.
“It’s always so cold here,” he complained. “And I’m tired of hunting seals every day.” He decided to head South where it was nice and warm. And off he went
9
Polar Bear soon came to a place where the snow stopped
Polar Bear soon came to a place where the snow stopped. Green grass spotted the ground. It was warmer there. On he went.
10
Meanwhile, Tiger had left the rain forest
Meanwhile, Tiger had left the rain forest. He came to a place where the mountains started. Already he was much cooler. On he went.
11
Hello, Bear Hello, Tiger Polar Bear and Tiger soon passed each other.
“Hello, Bear,” Tiger said. “Hello, Tiger,” Polar Bear answered.
12
On they went. Tiger traveling North. And Polar Bear traveling South.
13
After a while, Polar Bear finished crossing the mountains and entered the rain forest,
“Ahhh,” he said, basking in the heat. “Warm at last!”
14
At that same moment, Tiger came to the place where the snow started
At that same moment, Tiger came to the place where the snow started. He dashed into the frozen whiteness and romped in the cold snow. “Ahhh,” he purred. “Cool at last.”
15
Tiger soon got hungry. He looked for food, but there were no antelope
Tiger soon got hungry. He looked for food, but there were no antelope. Just snow and ice. Then, he started to shiver. His thin forest jacket was a little too thin for the North Pole.
16
In the rain forest, Polar Bear also got hungry
In the rain forest, Polar Bear also got hungry. But when he found a water hole and dove in, he only got a mouthful of mud. No seals. And the water was warm. In fact, Polar Bear was getting a little too warm. His thick winter fur was a little too thick for the rain forest.
17
Suddenly, Polar Bear smelled man.
“Danger!” he thought. “Hunters!” He looked for a place to hide and curled up in the tall grass. But his bright white fur, which blended so nicely with the snow at the North Pole, was easy to spot in the rain forest.
18
Polar Bear began to run. He headed North.
19
At the North Pole, Tiger was hungry, cold and shivering when he smelled man.
“Danger!” he thought. “Hunters!” He looked for aplace to hide. But his black and orange stripes, which blended so well with the shadows of the Rain Forest, stood out brightly against the white snow of the North Pole.
20
Tiger stared to run. He headed South.
21
After a while, Tiger came to the place where the snow ended and the green grass began. On he ran.
22
Meanwhile, Polar Bear had left the rain forest and was crossing the mountains. On he ran.
23
Hello, Tiger Hello, Bear Polar Bear and Tiger soon passed each other.
“Hello, Bear,” Tiger said. “Hello, Tiger,” Polar Bear answered.
24
Finally, Polar Bear came to the place where the snow started
Finally, Polar Bear came to the place where the snow started. He dashed into the frozen whiteness and romped in the cold snow. “Ahhh,” he growled. “Home at last!”
25
At that same moment, Tiger finished crossing the mountains and entered the rain forest.
“Ahh,” he purred, basking in the heat. “Home at last!”
26
There they stayed. Polar Bear, with his thick white winter fur, was cozy and snug in his frozen North Pole home. Tiger, with his thin forest jacket of orange and black stripes, was peaceful and content in his humid rainforest home. And, they both lived comfortably ever after!
