A Child's Day Young children helped their mom with some chores
Most children did not go to school to learn education At, that time the colony has been settled for like 20 years Sometime kids were not allowed to sit at a table Instead they stood behind the adults who passed food back to them Photo from

What Kind of Chores did they do?
The children did chores like gathering sticks to be used to start fires or feathers to be used to make beds and pillows Children as young as four were taught to knit and make stockings Boys would go to work with their fathers, and daughters were given more household chores Photo from

What Kind of clothing did they wear?
Babies wore dresses in neutral gowns with a long skirt and long sleeves Parents used a ¨Biggins¨ to keep a baby's head warm A biggins was a type of hat made of linen or wool and tied under chin Photo from colonialhonorsproject.blogspot.com

Did Children Go to School
In many areas there wasn't public school So a lot of farm children did not get and formal education Boys often learned how to read and write from their father or the local minister Girls were often not taught to read and write at all In some places the children did go to school
