Figure 1 Standardized steps of remodeling the aortic root associated with an external subvalvular aortic ring annuloplasty. A, Six “U” stitches are placed inside out as circumferentially in the subvalvular plane (*bundle of His) with the table of criteria for choice of the prosthetic annuloplasty rings (ExtraAortic; CORONEO, Inc, Montreal, Canada) and tube graft (Gelweave Valsalva; Vascutek, Ltd, Renfrewshire, Scotland). B, The first step of valve repair is performed by aligning the adjacent cusp free edges. C, Remodeling of the aortic root. D, Cusp resuspension is reevaluated to obtain an effective height of 9 mm using a cusp caliper, and arrows indicate the 3 commissural traction sutures. E, The 6 anchoring “U” stitches are passed through the inner aspect of the prosthetic aortic ring and tied down externally in the subvalvular position, with the final aspect of the neoaortic root after anastomosis of the coronary ostia. LC, Left coronary; NC, noncoronary; RC, right coronary. The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery , S37-S45DOI: ( /j.jtcvs ) Copyright © Terms and Conditions
