The Greenwich ADHD service
Greenwich has approx. 64,000 children and young people in population. Given prevalence rate for ADHD is 1-5 % this equals young people potentially meeting criteria for ADHD. Team see children aged 5- 18, who have a Greenwich GP and presenting with difficulties consistent with possible ADHD. Team provides assessment and diagnostic services in addition to post- diagnostic support in line with NICE guidance. Current ADHD caseload approximately 600 and growing. Face to face model of service delivery has limitations to achieving standards sent by NICE. The challenge : How do we deliver high quality care to young people with ADHD and their families?
3
Platform Landing Page The landing page for families enables them to access various functions such as recording goals, track their sleep and progress.
4
Tracking tools Families can use the diary to record their progress and the team can view this. Families and the team can obtain an overview of progress on a weekly basis.
5
Sharing information The family can also access information about their child’s medication, see reports from their child’s school and share information about their child.
6
Communication Families and schools can talk to the team via messaging. Only the team can see these messages. This allows private conversation between the team and the parents, and between the team and teachers. This functionality could be extended to include other professionals working with young person, such as GP or social workers
7
Case Study One family who have been actively using the platform completed standardised questionnaires before using the platform and six months later. In those six months, the mum had frequent conversation about managing the child’s difficult sleep with the care team, using the tracking tools to look at patterns of behaviour and sleep. We used the platform to monitor change around starting medication, keeping in touch through the instant message function around possible side effects the young person might have been experiencing.
