5 Def: A hyperbola is the set of all points P in a plane such that the sum of the distances between P and two fixed points, called the foci, is a constant. x y

Identify the vertices, foci, and asymptotes.

8 EXAMPLE 2: Find the standard form of the equation of the hyperbola with foci at (-1,2) and (5,2) and vertices (0,2) and (4,2).
