Animal Facts
Description
Snowy owls are usually covered in feathers. its white with black or brown speckles, it weighs about 4 pounds and its height is 2 ft. The snowy owl has big yellow eyes. Owls are able to spot far of the prey at night.
Diet
Owl normally eat hares, lemmings, and birds so it’s a carnivore.
Movement
Snowy owls can fly, it could fly up to 5 mph, and they also fly very silent. Its good that they can fly silent , so their prey doesn’t hear them when there searching for food.

3. Habitat

Snowy owls normally live in prairies, fields, marshes, beaches, and dunes, (in the summer) and artic tundra’s, to describe there habitat its very cold, snowy, and its in the north (Canada and Russia).

4. Life Cycle
When the babies are born there gray but when they get older they turn white. The babies are called chicks, the parents can lay up to 9 eggs, the parents takes care of the babies for at less two mouths.

Snowy owls are solitary except during the breeding season. The adults usually live up to 95 years.

5. Animal Interactions
A snowy owl protects it self by camouflaging and attacking with its talons. Its good that snowy owls can camouflaging so there predators can’t see them.

The main predators the snowy owls have are wolfs, and artic foxes. The snowy owls communicate with other animals by being usually being silent.
