Community Program Overview
Season Start: May 13 for all programs Picture Day: June 11-12 Days of Play: Weekdays - regular practice or games Other key dates will be posted on the website CAA adheres to an equal play policy Community Uniforms Pants, jerseys, and hats – provided by Association Coaches will distribute uniforms (when teams are formed)

9 Year Old Community Baseball
9’s Community (9 on or before 30 April, 2019; mostly current 3rd graders) Balanced teams made up of community-only and tournament players 10-12 games starting after Mother’s Day Year-end tournament to be held June 24-28 4 teams: Astros (Orcutt), D-Backs (Wasserman), Angels (Turner), Blue Jays Each team will also get the chance to be announced at a Chanhassen Storm High School Game Assuming we can secure a volunteer (8 hours of volunteer credit) to coordinate Games/Practices: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday Monday practices are optional for Tournament players Prior to official start of the season, tournament practice will be priority over community team (if practices are scheduled on same night) Modified Rules Prior to June 1st, batters will start with a 1-1 count Prior to June 1st, runners will not be allowed to steal home All other rules are consistent with Little League baseball

10/11 Community Baseball 10/11 Community League (Age 10/11 on or before 30 April, 2019; 4th & 5th graders) 1 team of 15 players Coaches: Barger and Egan 13 games starting after Mother’s Day First 3 weeks of season will be limited to 1 game a week Year-end tournament to be held July in Eden Prairie Participate in league with Chaska, Eden Prairie, Edina, Carver, and Shakopee community teams under common rules Games/Practices: Weekdays

12/13 Community Baseball 12/13 Community League (Age 12/13 on or before 30 April, 2019; 6th & 7th graders) 1 team Coaches: Gebauer, Greer, Mackenthun 12 games starting after Mother’s Day First 3 weeks of season will be limited to 1 game a week Year-end tournament to be held July in Edina Participate in league with Chaska, Eden Prairie, Edina, Carver, and Shakopee community teams under common rules 12/13 practices and games will be at Bandimere, Lake Ann and Diethelm Games/Practices: Weekdays

14/15 Community Baseball 14/15 Community League (Age 14/15 on or before 30 April, 2019; 8th & 9th graders) 1 team Coaches: Habas, Lueck 11 games starting after Mother’s Day First 3 weeks of season will be limited to 1 game a week Year-end tournament to be held July in Edina Participate in league with Eden Prairie, Edina, Jordan, and Shakopee community teams under common rules 14/15 practices and games will be at Bandimere, Lake Susan, and Diethelm Games/Practices: Weekdays

16-18 Community Baseball 16-18 year-old Community League
This is a program for players who do not participate in Legion baseball or would like to continue playing baseball with their friends over the summer. 2 teams of 13 – 16 players Practices will begin in early May; games will run from mid-May through late June with an end of season tournament that runs through mid to late July. League will consist of teams from Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Edina and Shakopee 16-18 practices and games will be at Bandimere Park, Lake Susan and Diethelm Park Volunteer checks and hours are required at this Age Level.

How do I become a Community coach?
Go to CAA website Register Online as a coach Register Online Complete the Coach Application & Background Check Complete the concussion training (required every 3 years) Go to Safety > Concussion Training & follow steps Coaches will be notified in April (12-15 yr. old teams) and early May (16-18 yr. old teams) All head coaches & assistants must be registered, with a background check & concussion training on file All team managers must be registered as a key volunteer Three coaches and one manager per team each receive 8 hours volunteer credit

If it is not in volunteer spot, then it does not qualify.
How do I volunteer? Volunteer deposit $150 volunteer deposit will be collected from every family via check Everyone needs to pay a volunteer deposit to be placed on a team If you have applied as a coach, manager, assistant manager or if you have completed some hours, you still must provide the check for the volunteer fee Checks will be destroyed at end of the season if volunteer hours are completed To Sign Up for Volunteer Hours Go to Baseball & Softball Click on Volunteer Information Click on Volunteer Opportunities Volunteer expectations 8 hours per family (not per player) Spontaneous help is always welcome, but does not qualify as volunteer hours Volunteer hours are recorded by Volunteer Coordinator or via the CAA website When you apply to become a volunteer, you give our organization the right to conduct necessary background checks To qualify for volunteer hours, the job(s) must be posted on Volunteerspot. If it is not in volunteer spot, then it does not qualify. CHANHASSSEN CHALLENGE HOSTED May 31st-June 2nd 2019 is great opportunity to receive credit!!
