1. Triathlete’s Prayer
O God you have taught us to compete with perseverance
in the race that is set before us. Give me courage to run
this race to the finish. Give me strength and endurance
for the swim. May my path be straight, and let not the
waves buffet me. Let every breath I take be of praise to
the Lord. Be with me as I ride the course, may I mount
up with wings like an eagle and make safe my path.
May you strengthen me for the run. Allow me to gain
new strength. Let me run and not get tired, may I walk
and not become weary. May I finish this race humbly,
and in a way that brings glory and honor to You, myself
and others with whom I compete. Should I not finish,
let me do so with equal grace knowing that I did my best.
