Reasons for Automated On/Off Valve Failures
Axiom Diagnostics Web Cast Reasons for Automated On/Off Valve Failures StoneL developed the Axiom with diagnostics after reviewing data from end-user studies we completed the past few years. What we heard from your customers is that identifying potential failures in their environment is important because they can avoid plant shutdowns and that translates into saving money. With the Advanced Diagnostics in our Axiom, the data provides a window into what is happening with the valve performance and solenoid failure and leaking top the list. Followed closely behind by valve sticking. With that in mind let’s look at the diagnostic capabilities the Axiom. Jan. 29, 2010

Diagnostics Promise to Improve Uptime and Reduce Maintenance Cost
Axiom Diagnostics Web Cast Diagnostics Promise to Improve Uptime and Reduce Maintenance Cost Anticipate valve/actuator failure preventing potential process shut down Develop optimal maintenance scheduling Determine problem cause faster reducing maintenance time Access key information from control room to determine operating health Perform remote settings and calibration Diagnostics Promise to Improve Uptime and Reduce Maintenance Cost Seeing the data allows them to Anticipate valve/actuator failure… preventing potential process shut down due to a catastrophic failure during operation. Knowing which valves need to maintained and which don’t helps Develop optimal maintenance scheduling. If there is a problem, determining the cause immediately leads to reduced maintenance time because the issue is corrected quickly. Process users want to access key information from the control room. They can determine operating health when they know the condition, the reasons, and the symptoms of failure. Additional savings in time and money are realized because settings and calibration can be performed remotely. Jan. 29, 2010

Standard output, can have Intrinsically Safe barrier. 24V dc. 12 dc coil, 24v dc output. When going through barrier: drop 6-8volts. 24 volts, delivering 14 to 18v to solenoid. Feedback: 4-20 milliamp. Directly proportionate to position feedback. What position the automated valve is in. Control room, analog input HART overlay, translated into DCS, internal modem. External modem available. Hart Signal, USB or Blue tooth. Direct connect possible. Physical wiring connections of the system. Jan. 29, 2010

Asset Management Systems Compatibility
Axiom Diagnostics Web Cast Asset Management Systems Compatibility Using systems that accept EDDL (Electronic Device Description Language) Download EDD from Typical EDDL compatible asset management systems include: Emerson AMS - Siemens PDM Honeywell FDM Using systems that run FDT (Field Device Tool) Download DTM (Device Type Manager) from DTM is loaded into FDT frame program which is part of DCS or a separate PC Typical FDT compatible systems include: - Honeywell FDM - Yokogawa PRM - Metso FieldCare - ABB AVM The Electronic Device Description Language -- EDDL -- is a language that the DCS will read for the system to construct a graph. FDT available soon: difference -- FDT and EDD computer will have frame program will load in device type manager, from our specific device. Data will load and have specific look. Most Computers use both. The super DTM will look at the EDD language, create a DTM and will load into the system to be read. With a contemporary system, can readily read information. Customers using diagnostics, should be straight forward plug-in with no modifications. HART compatible with current systems. Axiom Diagnostics - Demos
Web Cast Axiom Diagnostics - Demos Software, HART modem and power up connector provides interface to Axiom model with HART diagnostics. Bob, remember to START CONVERSATION with Wally after you become presenter. Plug in system wiring, connector to model, power up, solenoid on/off, modem, and use Blue Tooth. Goes to 30 feet minimum for signal, plug in to read, and software for PC, EDD information, and into graphics. As administrator, it was easy to load. AS interface: all cases have capability of the diagnostics shown on screen or ASi demo board. Readily available from StoneL. WALLY NEEDS PRESENTING RIGHTS – Bob give or Wally take. Jan. 29, 2010

Axiom Diagnostics – Promo Materials
Web Cast Axiom Diagnostics – Promo Materials Literature This 4-page brochure is available electronically on the web site now and will be printed in a few weeks. Watch your for how to order printed copies. Web Find complete AXIOM details and model selection options on pages 4-9 of the ValvePoint catalog. Use this new brochure as a supplement to the catalog. Right now the brochure is electronic format – download from web. Plans to print “soon”. I want to also mention the value of reviewing the Installation, Maintenance and Operating Instructions. IMOs show details for how to hookup, and look at from EDD and DTM perspective. The Web site is being updated. Some information is already posted. Watch for updates to this Axiom home page.
