Giving Feedback Be specific – What did they say that met the objective or didn’t meet the objective Be descriptive – What was the impact Behavioral – Focus on what is said or done Be constructive – Give ideas for improving Limit sugarcoating – Be direct and tactful

Open: Who, what, where, when, how, why? Closed: Is, could, should, would, do, will, can Sample questions Where do you think you’ll start? What does success look like? What have you tried so far?

What do you want to change? What are your next steps? What questions do you still have?

Open Space Brainstorm topics, any topic is good Combine similar topics

Goal - Design a min session for Sept. 21, 2019 Focus - Public Sector Service Instructions - As a small group brainstorm & prototype a plan Prepare the following for your report out: What your session will focus on (city positions, policy…) Format (panel, workshop, small groups, etc.) Recommendations for how the class as a whole will plan it together

Reflection Take a moment to imagine the road ahead:
What do you see? What are the first steps? Consider the guest leaders on today’s panel: What do you most want to know or learn about their experience(s)? What do you most want them to know about you? Is it in your elevator speech?
