Quantification of TBS-, FA-soluble Aβ40/42, and Aβ oligomers in the brain of adult and aged APP/PSEN1 and APP/PSEN1/APOEnull mice. (A) The concentration of TBS-soluble Aβ40 and Aβ42 was determined by ELISA after sequential extraction of brain tissue from adult and aged APP/PSEN1 and APP/PSEN1/APOEnull mice. (B) Corresponding concentration of FA- soluble Aβ40 and Aβ42 from the same brain samples. (C) We also determined the amounts of Aβ oligomers in TBS and observed higher concentrations of neurotoxic amyloid in aged AD mice. n = 5–11 mice/group; one-way ANOVA and post hoc Dunn’s multiple comparison test; *P < 0.05.
