Supplementary Figure 6 The singular value decomposition of the matrix containing abundances of 131 genus-like groups (as determined with the HITChip) of the human inocula, luminal and mucosal M-SHIME samples (n=5) resulted in six terms which significantly explained the variation (%) in the dataset caused by either the location (= human inoculum, lumen M-SHIME or mucin layer M-SHIME; pL) or source of the sample (= human donor A, B, C, D and E; pS).
