(A) Effect of increasing d-glucose concentration (2.5, 5, 10, 20, 35 and 50 μmol l-1) on mucosal to serosal (MS) transmural d-[3H]glucose transport. (A) Effect of increasing d-glucose concentration (2.5, 5, 10, 20, 35 and 50 μmol l-1) on mucosal to serosal (MS) transmural d-[3H]glucose transport. Km, affinity constant; Jmax, maximum transport. (B) Effect of increasing d-glucose concentration (2.5, 5, 10, 20, 35 and 50 μmol l-1) on serosal to mucosal (SM) transmural d-[3H]glucose transport. Individual MS and SM glucose transport experiments were conducted during warm spring/summer months. Each data point represents the mean (±s.e.m.) d-[3H]glucose transport at each concentration from N=4 animals. Ijeoma E. Obi et al. J Exp Biol 2011;214: © 2011.
