Case Study of M.B. Name: M.B. Age: 35 Sex: Female
Diagnosis: PTSD and Autism Reason for PTSD: 5+ ACE’s Carly Adverse childhood experiences are types of abuse/trauma/negative experiences that happens in early childhood. These negative experiences have a great effect on their overall mental and physical well-being. Research shows that the most detrimental ACE is sexual abuse in females. M.B. has suffered Physical, emotional, and sexual abuse throughout her childhood. She has also experienced physical and emotional neglect, and more than likely others. These experiences have shaped the way that she views life, builds relationships, and has caused her to have PTSD.

OT interventions for PTSD
Carly Motivational Interviewing -Asking open questions -Affirmations --Reflective listening (ex. I don’f think I have PTSD, answer: you are not sure of the diagnosis) -Summarizing Exploring leisure activities and vocational pursuits, through community mental health model able to connect MB to Country Groumet (local store on the square) to sell her arts and crafts . We also have partnered with express employment to explore a new position for MB in data entry.
