Adverse childhood experiences are types of abuse/trauma/negative experiences that happens in early childhood. These negative experiences have a great effect on their overall mental and physical well-being. Research shows that the most detrimental ACE is sexual abuse in females. M.B. has suffered Physical, emotional, and sexual abuse throughout her childhood. She has also experienced physical and emotional neglect, and more than likely others. These experiences have shaped the way that she views life, builds relationships, and has caused her to have PTSD.
