Scientific Method- A series of steps that is used to answer a question or solve a problem.
There are 6 steps to the scientific method.

4. 11L Through: Scientific Method
6 steps:
1.) Ask a question- based on an observation
2.) Form a Hypothesis- educated guess or a possible explanation.
3.) Test Hypothesis- conduct an experiment
4.) Analyze Results- this information is collected from experiments.
5.) Draw Conclusions- from the results of your experiment
6.) Communicate Results- tell others or publish findings.

Mentos Geyser Experiment-
1. Ask a Question- What effects do Mentos have on different types of soda?
Club soda, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi

If Mr. Wardlaw drops Mentos into the different sodas, then ____________________ will happen
3. Test Hypothesis - observe experiment.

5. Draw a conclusion-
Mentos causes the surface of the soda to decrease. The surface tension keeps the CO2 bubbles contained within the liquid. The bubbles form quickly and need more room. They exit the top of the container which has a small opening
(like putting your thumb over the end of the hose and the water squirts out, faster and harder)
6. Communicate Results- Tell your family and friends
