Staff training exercise How can I use the content of this lesson to help my students experience one or more HOM? How can I invite students to consciously use the habits as they plan and evaluate work in my class? How can I help students become aware of these habits in their own and others behaviour? How can I encourage conversation about these habits in my classroom? How am I modelling these habits in my own behaviour?

Now you have finished this challenge take a few minutes to discuss these questions with the person next to you. What were the different ways you worked around being stuck? Do you think you persisted ? Score yourself 1 - 10 and explain your answer How could you have shown greater persistence? How can you persist as you prepare for your exams over the next few weeks?

Task 1 - Do a PMI on this delivery model in relation to its use for your school. Plus points? Minus points? Interesting points?

Task 2 - Design an explicit lesson to introduce a HOM What does it look like? What does it sound like? Where would it be important to use? Not important to use? What is a good/fun way to introduce so that students will remember it? Find a story or situation that illustrates the HOM Develop some reflective questions which unpack the HOM
