Kohlberg’s Theory of Moral Development
Considers whether law is just and fair. Ask themselves “Is it good for society as a whole?” Believe that the laws should change as the world changes Example: Will consider both sides of a situation. See other points of view Example: Post-Conventional Level III Stage 5: Social Contract Stage 6: Universal Ethics Principle Less concerned with approval of others. Worry about following the rules that are established by respected authority Moral thinking is very rigid (Things are either right or wrong.) Example: Becomes aware of what others think. Applies rules that others set. Try to seek social approval.
