Document Learning Progress
Assessments Welcome to the Data Warehouse HOME HELP TEACHING TOOLS Document Learning Progress Assessments are used for placement to determine prerequisite prior knowledge and skills as well as how much of the proposed content and skills the students may already have. Results can be used to determine where to start as well as determien the pace and intensity to use to teach the new content and/or skill instruction. Placement assessments help identify strengths and areas where help is needed so roles in cooperative learning may be assigned. They also help students develop clear expectations about what they will learn and set goals that are motivational. General trends in the results of formative assessments reveal which instructional tools and methods were effective and point to those which may need review and adjustment. Individual student results reveal which students need remediation in the tested content or skill. ASSESSING SUCCESS
