1 JRC user perspective Joachim Maes

2 Current data flow model for ecosystem services accounts
EEA data sets Visualisation of the accounts on inca.ec.europa.eu; (for now: JRC data sets ESTAT data sets Local processing and analysis Mapping and aggregation at national scale into supply and use tables other data sets Storage of INCA output on data.jrc.ec.europa.eu

3 Discussion points How can the current data model to produce accounts be implemented or improved in the frame of The review of the environmental data centres The development of a shared spatial data infrastructure (for which INCA is a test case; see footnote 1) 1. Testing a shared spatial data infrastructure means that we first need a shared spatial data infrastructure. Do we have one?

4 Discussion points What is needed so that a shared spatial data infrastructure ensures: Frequent updates of the accounts Proper versioning: What if an updated input dataset becomes available/How to manage new datasets? The use of the same data sets as input to all accounts 1. Testing a shared spatial data infrastructure means that we first need a shared spatial data infrastructure. Do we have one?

5 Discussion points Spatial downscaling of land use statistics
There is a need to increase the capacity to provide on a regular basis downscaled statistics. Nobody is currently delivering this sort of data.

6 Tasks for INCA INCA test cases :
Describe the current situation and make proposals for improvement of data flows based on the hypothesis that there will be any time soon a shared data infrastructure
