2. EDİRNE PALACE

4. The construction of palace in Edirne was started in 1450 by order of II. Sultan Murad

5. The hunting grounds on the West bank of Tunca River selescted as its location.
But, one year later than construction begins, Sultan Murad died and work was suspended for some time.

6. A few months later work was continiued by order of Fatih Sultan Mehmed.

7. Palace was finished in 1475, exactly 25 years later than it begins.
Palace was called Saray-ı Cedidi Amire
In first times the palace using for accomodation of Sultan’s and resting area for soldiers

8. But later , in 18. century, the palace was abonded by III. Sultan Ahmed.

9. During the period of vacancy, the palace fall into a state dilopodition caused by the earthquakes, fires and wars.
