Decline curve: Linear regression Linear regression is the most common method of forecasting production, especially in this situation Reasons for using it There is currently a swing toward decline rates proportional to production rates because of lower and lower productivity wells coming on stream If the conditions affecting the rate of production of the well are not changed by outside influences, the curve will be fairly regular
