Biography Thomas Edison was born February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio. His full name was Thomas Alva Edison. He died October 18, He was credited for helping America’s economy. Thomas set up his first lab when he was ten in his parent’s basement. He received 1,093 patents. He has invented batteries, motion cameras, phonographs, power plants, and a better version of the light bulb. He is great at keeping his patience and never giving up.

Invention Thomas Edison invented many things like the phonograph which would record and playback sound. He also invented the power plant which brought electricity to homes. Thomas invented the motion picture which was a series of pictures that to form a movie. What he is most famous for is the better version of the light bulb. Thomas didn’t like the fact that earlier light bulbs used gas, a dirty substance that created unhealthy air, for source. He vacuumed air out of the bulb and lite carbon filament to make his version of the light bulb.
