1 Positivity rate for antibodies to double-stranded DNA (anti-dsDNA), low complement, high complement C4 activation products (CBCAPS) and two-tiered methodology stratified by disease activity score. Positivity rate for antibodies to double-stranded DNA (anti-dsDNA), low complement, high complement C4 activation products (CBCAPS) and two-tiered methodology stratified by disease activity score. Disease activity was determined by using the non-serological Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index SELENA Modification (SELENA-SLEDAI) score (without anti-dsDNA and low complement). Anti-dsDNA positivity cut-off was at 301 units, low complement corresponds to reduced C3 or C4, high CBCAPS corresponds to EC4d>14 net mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) or BC4d>60 net MFI.
