Locating Zeros of a Polynomial Function
The purpose of today’s lesson is to interpret data from a table and to use a calculator table to approximate a zero of a function to the nearest 1/100. Additionally, we will use the table functions of the TI 84 to predict an equation that matches the input of data.

x y -3 -5 -2 -1 4 7 1 2 5 3 137 Zeros occur between consecutive numbers (x) where the y-value changes from positive to negative (or vice versa)

On the TI 84 Clear lists (stat key, list keys, comma) Enter x in list 1 and y in list 2 Go to catalog scroll to diagnostics on, enter Go to stat, calc, LinReg, QuadReg, CubicReg, QuartReg and check R2
