Dialogic marking A technique that: Ensures that comments are acted upon by students Makes students accountable to each other for making improvements to their work Allows students to engage in a dialogue with each other about their work and progress. DIRT (Deep Independent Reflective Time) – 15 minutes of silent work improving your work and meeting targets.

Peer Checking Peer checking –
Student A: “Mr. Goodrich told me to improve This is what I did ” Comment: Student A met all his target because he improved his zooming-out, and wrote better extra information sentences. Student B: “Let me show you what Mr. Goodrich told me to do This is what I improved ” Comment: Student B met all his target because he used word level analysis and wrote proper umbrella points. Peer checking – Show your partner what you were told to improve. Explain to them how you improved it. Ask them to write a comment proving that you met your targets Swap and repeat.
