Partner Challenge! Number a lined piece of paper 1-20
Angle yourself so that your elbow partner cannot see your paper. You have one minute to write as many onomatopoeias as you can think of! Repeats don’t count Slight word alterations don’t count (boom OR booms, not both) It must be a recognizable onomatopoeia

Your Turn! You are creating a six-panel comic strip. The requirements are as follows: It tells a story, meaning there is a beginning, middle, and end It has a title It has color! At least four onomatopoeias At least one simile At least one metaphor

Steps Brainstorm the back of the first paper I give you – plan your story! Then raise your hand for the comic panels Draw your comic and do the writing on it in pencil Check your work – do you have four onomatopoeias, one simile, and one metaphor? Color! Put it in the class folder after checking that your name is on it
