Comfort & Pleasures he offers & hospitality he extends
Hebrews 11:25

6. Where was this fire built?
Not built Near Christ!
Built in the Midst of His Enemies!
In a weak, halfhearted way, he wanted to be where Jesus was
How many are like this today?
Love will not compromise with false teaching, but will cause us to stand FIRM in the TRUTH

7. Why is the devil’s fire built?
It is built as a trap to allure & ensnare men!
2 Timothy 2:24-26 NKJV 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.”

8. Who are those who are warming at the devil’s fire?
Friends of the Devil – gave Consent & Moral Support to those who Killed Jesus
Matthew 12:30
Weak Disciples – Luke 22:54
All who “sit down with the wrong crowd” or “hitch their horse to the wrong post” or “park their car in the wrong lot!”
“What’s wrong with associating with those who are in sin & error?”

9. Tragedy of it seen in what happened to peter
He Denied the Lord with an OATH! Luke 22:57-60
Where was he?
He was in the MIDDLE of those who called for Christ’s Murder!
Being in the “wrong group” gives implied consent to their sin! 2 John 9-11

10. Paul taught this same concept
1 Corinthians 5:9-11 “not to keep company”
When a Brother persists in sin, we are not to keep company with him!
Why? V.6 “a little leaven leavens the whole lump”
“How can we teach someone in error if we have nothing to do with them?”

Paul did NOT say we could not teach them.
What was prohibited was casual, social relationships with them.
Why?
Casual association without rebuke will encourage rather than discourage their sin!
Proverbs 17:15; Ezekiel 13:22

12. “What about Paul going up on mars hill & into the synagogues?”
Paul did NOT consent to religious Error by Silence! He Spoke out & Taught the TRUTH!
Can you imagine Paul being invited to Mars Hill to speak on Love for your Fellow Man, and him accepting without preaching on Idolatry?

13. What did peter have to do to come back to the lord?
He had to Remove Himself From the Devil’s Fire!
He repented in bitter tears – Luke 22:62
Acts 8:22 - "Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.”

14. Are you following the lord from afar?
Do you sit down in the wrong crowd at the Devil’s fire?
Won’t you like Peter, repent & ask God to forgive you?
