2 Assignment Scenario You are working as an intern for BBC Three...
Your producer has asked you to produce an interview based video/audio recording that will be published online for their year old audience. Your recordings must feature at least two separate interviews about any of the following: Current/popular topic of your choice An individual's story  An event  An issue within society   They want you as the journalist to be included in the final interview cut, whether you choose to produce an audio or video based interview.  If the producer is particularly impressed with your final interviews they will commission you to produce a minute documentary about the same topic/story. Therefore, you should make sure that you choose a topic or story for this assignment that could then be developed into a documentary later in the year. The final interview recordings need to be between 3-5 minutes in duration.

Watch the following BBC Three documentaries and note down the following about each case study:  What is the topic of the documentary  Who was interviewed in the documentary What was the purpose of the interviews featured in the documentary Face the Consequences How Cosplay saved my life Are smart students more likely to smoke weed?

5 Generating Ideas Individually, begin to mindmap at least three initial ideas for the topic of your two interviews. Remember, it needs to be a topic where you will be able to source appropriate interviewees AND could potentially be suitable to be developed into a documentary. {create your mindmap within this presentation} Once you've finished generating ideas, begin to research the topic of your interview by visiting relevant online sources such as BBC News, Social Media Pages, Charity Sites, Government websites.  Screenshot the information that you find and insert into this PowerPoint. 

6 Researching Potential Interviewees
Now that you have researched your topic, you need to start looking for potential individuals that you could interview in relation to the topic. Use online sources to help you, a good starting point could be: Professionals working in that field  Charity workers/volunteers  Victims Witnesses  Case studies  Experts in the field such as lecturers  For any potential interviewees you find, insert their details and contact details within this slide.
