Dynamics of Energy Transfer in Cylindrical Molecular Aggregates
Andrew Moran, Department of Chemistry, University of North Carolina Chemistry Femtosecond spectroscopies investigate energy transfer in cylindrical aggregates composed of cyanine dyes TEM image of porphyrin cylindrical aggregates Light harvesting and charge transport functionalities of cylindrical molecular aggregates (CMA) composed of porphyrin and cyanine dye molecules are investigated using femtosecond laser spectroscopies. Experiments find that energy transfers between the inner and outer cylinder walls on the sub-picosecond time scale. Energy migration parallel to the long axis of the cylinder is under investigation.
