How do people see you? 1 Around the outline write as many ways about how your friends and family see you on the outside. 2 Within the outline write as many words about how you see yourself on the inside.

Reading task part 1 Read this article first side and answer these 2 questions: What do you think religions mean when talking about happiness on the inside is more important than happiness on the outside? Religious people believe that there are many in this world who are like the couple by the puddle. Explain what they mean.

Reading task part 2 Read the second page of the article to answer these questions: This sheet has suggested that many people are not as happy as they could be because they have the same problems as the lion cub. Explain what this means. Make a list of things in the world which others say make you happy but which in your experience don’t.

Group Task You will be producing an information poster for a marketplace of information in period 5. Each group can only use 5 words on their poster, meaning that they need to use symbols, diagrams etc You need to ensure that their poster is colourful and eye catching as it will attract people to their stall at the market. The idea is to inform other students about how different religions view happiness and believe happiness can be achieved when they get to your stall.

Use the tabs for different religions on ISLE and this link Consider these questions in your research: 1 What is your religion?- major symbols/idea 2 How does this religion refer to the importance of happiness? any key words/ideas? 3 How can followers of this religion become happier? Try to use specific examples/facts when informing people at your stall in the marketplace.

Marketplace follow up 1 Which stalls were you most attracted to?
2 Which stallholder was the most informative about their religion? 3 Which religion attracted you most with their ideas about happiness? 4 Were there any similarities or differences between 2 of the religions and what they think about how to achieve happiness?
