Points of new draft after small drafting meeting
Chair of Task Force on Reverse Warning issues
2
First of all Date:December 11 – 12, 2018 Place:Scania office Brussels
Participants:Japan, Germany, EC OICA (Scania, Volvo), GREWUS The documents were submitted by Japan, Turkey and GREWUS There were comments from UK and Renault. All documents are available at UN-ECE website. Points of new draft will be shown in the next slide. Anything was not fixed at the small group meeting The new draft is required to be finalized through the TF.

Points of new draft Scope (1.1.1) BGN (2.2 - 2.4)
About numbers in bracket, please refer to TFRA-03-10 Scope (1.1.1) M2 category was limited to above 3.5 t vehicle by Japan proposal. Because vehicle type is different between under 3.5 t and above 3.5 t. M2 (above 3.5 t) and N2 are in square bracket. BGN ( ) We decided to keep texts regarding BGN even though vehicle driver cannot feel vehicle surrounding noise level. These texts exist to share common image when low/normal/high mode should be selected by driver between TF members. Intermittent sound (6.1.1) Continuous sound like horn should be excluded. The reverse warning sound device which emits sound rarely (i.e. 1 count/min) should be excluded because it is used as alternative method of "Pause switch".

Requirements of acoustic chamber (6.3.2)
As a results of the small group meeting, the requirements of acoustic chamber were same as R28 (horn). After the small drafting meeting, it was clarified that Japanese type approval authority does not have an acoustic chamber It is necessary to know other countries’ situation. Limit value ( and ) First, we have to define frame of limit value (Composition of limit value table). There was a document from Japan regarding concept of limit value. All of limit values are in square bracket. The discussion about this matter should be continued. Duration test (6.4.2) Japan proposed duration test is not required in this regulation. Germany and OICA didn’t agree with it. The discussion about this matter should be continued.
5
Pause switch and returning to normal mode
Texts about "pause switch" were proposed by Japan based on R-138. These texts were added under "11. Definition". Sound mode should be automatically returned to normal mode from "Pause switch" or "Selectable low/high mode". Texts were added under "11. Definition". Annex 4 This annex is about "Dual horn". All texts of this annex was deleted. There may be other sentences specific to horn in this draft. Definition of vehicle type (11.2) Definition of vehicle was corrected in line with reverse warning sound. The discussion about this matter should be continued.
6
Required data to the new regulation
Technical data about limit value was submitted by Japan (TFRA ) Following data and ideas are required to the new regulation. Frame of limit value If limit value depends on sound type, Definition of each sound type Limit value of broad band sound Limit value of 1/3 oct. band sound Test method for small volume warning sound The test should be kept more than 3-10 dBA difference between BGN and target sound. Test method for automatic adjustable device In addition, is it necessary to define microphone requirement which is installed in automatic adjustable device for feedback BGN ? All of the test methods should be realistic.
